Grazing animals

Many animals live at Maihaugen. During summer and autumn you can see them grazing in different areas around the open-air museum.

Here you can get to know traditional farm animals such as horses, cows, sheep, chickens, pigs and goats.

The sheep stay outdoors all year round. The other animals graze during the summer season – usually until the autumn holidays, weather permitting.

The animals move between different grazing areas throughout the summer. Feel free to ask at the Visitor Centre to find out where they are on the day of your visit.
