Play and fun in the open-air museum
22 June to 16 August
Every day
Every summer, Maihaugen is full of life! Fun activities take place throughout the open-air museum, and there is plenty for children to join in with, including:
- Try traditional games such as stilts, skipping rope, kubb and horseshoe tossing at Olsengården in the Town.
- Build your own toolbox in the carpenter’s workshop at Smedstua in the Town. Open 11:00–16:00. Unstaffed.
- Help with traditional farm work at Øygarden in the Village.
- See the historic playhouses in the Residential Area.
- Visit the playground and play in the playhouses by the 1915 House.
- At the Postal Museum, children can make their own stamp, play post office and sort the post.
