Maihaugen have been closed due to the coronavirus situation since 13 March. The indoor part of the museum have been closed, while the open-air museum have been open to pedestrians.
We are now planning the summer season, and we are looking forward to re-opening the museum.
The daily programme at Maihaugen will be reduced this summer compared to what we normally offer in the high season. There will not be ordinary guided tours and walking plays this summer. Still, it's an experience to visit Maihaugen!
In the idyllic open-air museum it is nice to stroll around and get an impression of how Norwegians lived in the past. You can look through the doors of several of the historic houses and watch breeding animals out in the beautiful countryside. There are also great exhibitions in the main building.
Maihaugen's staff will make sure our guests will experience a safe museum that complies with all guidelines from the health authorities according to the coronavirus situation.
Opening hours this summer
June 12 – August 16:
Monday – Sunday 11.00 – 15.00.
We are working on putting up online sale of entrance tickets, and encourage you to pay by card.
Changes may occure if the guidelines of the health authorities change.
