23. June
18.00 - 23.00
Midsummer at Maihaugen is celebrated with a bonfire, music and activities for the whole family!
Midsummer is one of the great events at Maihaugen through the year. There is a lot going on in the open-air museum like concerts, dance, actors in costumes, hosts in historical houses, craftsmen doing traditional handicraft and activities for children.
Every year Maihaugen cooperates with a municipality in the Gudbrandsdalen Valley. This year Skjåk municipality gets a chance to show some of their local culture from the outdoor stage and other places in the museum.
The highlight of the evening is when the bonfire at the lake is lit at 21.00 with beautiful song from Hege Fagermoen.
Food and beverages are sold in different places in the open-air-museum, or you can bring a picnic basket and enjoy your food in beautiful surroundings.
We recommend buying a ticket in advance.
