Hage
The farm called Hage was located south of Lillehammer and built by a lawyer. The building style is French Empire.
A shopkeeper from Lillehammer called A.G. Olstad owned and lived on the farm in the summers from the mid-1870s and until 1900. The family, wife and four children, spent the winters centrally in Lillehammer, where Olstad had his own business.
On the ground floor there is a large living room and a reception room which face the street. Towards the backyard are a dining room and the kitchen. The majority of the interior is from the period 1880 – 1890, but some of it is younger, for example electric lighting. The rich colours and the heavy materials are typical of the time. In the kitchen there is a small wood fuel stove which was used for baking bread for the family.
A.G. Olstad was one of Lillehammer’s most prominent shopkeepers from the last decade of the 19th century.
