The café in the visitor center is temporarily closed, but we serve free coffee and tea.

Temporary closed café

The museum's cafe is temporarily closed this winter while we are waiting for new drivers. The café will be open as normal from the spring 2018.

Even if the cafe is closed, the area of the cafe is available for visitors in the museum's opening hours, so you can take a break here.

We serve coffee and tea free of charge to our visitors while the cafe is closed.

The café at Maihaugen has beautiful views of Garmo Stave Church, the lake Mjøsa and the city.

Catering during the summer season

During the summer season, you also find places to eat in the Open Air Museum. Bakeriet is a cosy little café close by the train in the Town. Kirkestuen serves  everything from waffles to traditional food and is located just opposite the main building.

Group lunch

Tour operators and others travelling in groups have special prices for catering at  Maihaugen. Contact us for a quotation and booking.
