Easter at Maihaugen

Open every day during Easter, except Monday.

11 am–4 pm

Welcome spring in beautiful surroundings at the open-air museum and explore our exciting indoor exhibitions.

During Easter, we have extended opening hours from 11:00 am to 4:00 pm, Tuesday–Sunday. Maihaugen and the Norwegian Olympic Museum are closed on Mondays.

Spring at the Open-Air Museum

Spring is in the air at Maihaugen – the ice is melting on the ponds, water drips from the rooftops, and birdsong fills the open-air museum. Enjoy an educational and atmospheric walk among historic houses and farmyards set in scenic surroundings. Some of the buildings are open, so you can peek inside.

Fascinating Exhibitions

In the Visitor Centre, you can experience our new exhibition Hunting the Hekne Weave, exploring a distinctive tapestry-weaving tradition with roots dating back to the 17th century. The exhibition is part of Impulses, which features some of the museum’s finest treasures.

In the exhibition At the Photographer H. H. Lie – Portraits of Life, you can discover the stories of people who lived in North Gudbrandsdal more than a hundred years ago.
